This shaver features several innovations that make it a welcome successor to the highly praised Syncro line of Braun shavers. The Braun Activator's shaving head has the revolutionary Smart Foil technology with a multitude of holes to pick up hair growing in different directions. These holes have a variety of size, shape and direction to pick up hair that might be growing in different directions so you would only need a few passes to clean up especially the difficult to reach areas of the neck and jaw. This technology has twenty more different opportunities of capturing hair compared to only one opportunity with ordinary shaver foils. Even better is that the shaver head oscillates sideways. The oscillations, micro as it may be, lets the foils get even more hair and provides a smoother glide so it maximizes comfort and does not cause irritation to the skin especially in sensitive areas that easily reddens and gets irritated. The different contours of the face and neck are not major issues with its automatic adjustment that ensures maximum contact with the skin at any time. You can turn off The Braun Activator includes a three-stage cutting system that lets the top foil shave the shorter hairs and overnight stubble followed by the hardworking middle trimmer to cut longer hair and concluded with a second foil that clears out whatever is left behind to leave a smooth finish.
The Braun Activator's Clean and Renew system is a built-in automatic cleaning system with three cleaning programs that you can choose from depending on the rate of usage and extent of cleaning needed. The automatic cleaning program pumps fresh alcohol-based cleaner into the shaver head to clean away shave debris and sanitize it. The intensive cleaning program, the cleaner is heated to remove all the stubborn debris and grime that has stuck to the head. Aside from ensuring that the shaver head is bacteria-free and hygienic, the cleaner also lubricates the cutting blades to ensure efficient performance. After cleaning, the shaver's inductive heating system dries up the head to ensure there is no room for bacteria to grow as well as to extend the durability and performance of the blades. The debris that is washed away is neatly contained in the cleaning cartridge that you can empty out anytime. Once clean and resting on its dock, it will automatically charge itself and be ready for next use.
Nickel Metal hydride batteries require a full charge of one hour to be able to give 50 minutes of cordless shaving. Depending on your type and growth of stubble, this is good for 2 to 3 weeks of shaving. They can also be charged for three minutes to give you enough power for a single shave. The LCD gives you the cleaning and charging status. A special Smart Logic system takes care of maintaining the batteries, discharging and charging them when needed. It can also be used with its cord automatic voltage adjustment that you can use anywhere in the world.
