Cutting Hairdressing Thinning

Thinning hair can occur in both men and women, although it is considered more common place in men. There are many reasons for it to begin to thin, although hereditary factors tends to be the greatest cause. Some men will accept their thinning hair without any worry, and some will even shave their heads completely once they start to go bald, but for women it is a completely different story. As hair is often looked at as a woman's crowning glory it can be quite alarmingly to suddenly discover that it is thinning. It is also not the done thing for a woman to shave her head like a man, so hair loss can be a great cause of distress. In these cases hair replacement methods could be the answer. Thankfully hair loss treatments have improved significantly and it is now possible to stop it from thinning in most cases.
Men and thinning hair
It is fairly common for men to suffer from hair loss. It generally starts as a receding hairline and thinning on the crown. A common cause of its loss in men is due to a chemical derived from testosterone called dyhydrotestosterone (DHT).
Women and thinning hair
Hair thinning in women is actually more common than first thought and can be caused by a number of different things. It can be a good idea to get a doctors' diagnosis first before trying to do something about it. Often a woman will suffer from a temporary loss a few months after childbirth, and other hormone fluctuations such as menopause can cause it to thin. An over active thyroid can also contribute to hair loss. Women tend to be quite brutal to their hair, more so than men, by having fairly extreme treatments, like dying, having perms and other chemical treatments. Even using a dryer or straightener can cause damage.
Available Treatments
There are hair loss prevention and re-growth treatments available for both men and women. Topical solutions can be applied to stop thinning hair and stimulate growth. There are also shampoos available that actually remove the DHT chemical from the scalp itself. Dietary supplements are also known to help stimulate hair growth, including vitamin B6, magnesium and folic acid.
Disguising thinning hair
These treatments are effective but it can often take a while before any change in the hair is noticeable. This can be frustrating but in the meantime there are ways to disguise thinning hair, including products that can make hair look thicker and healthier. There are hair loss conditioners that work on the hair shafts themselves and actually thicken them by 300%. You can also make your hair look thicker by the way you style it. Blow drying, for example, is a good way to give thin hair more body. Certain hair styles work better too. Having long hair can just accentuate the problem rather than hide it. Having a short hair cut is a better idea while the treatments are taking effect.
