Cutting Thinning Scissors
If you have thick hair, consider yourself lucky compared to people who wish to have more hair on their head. People simply have dissimilar tastes when it comes to hair volume. Those who have thinner hair volume like it thicker, those who have thicker hair want it thinner. If you are one of the latter, your best friend will be a hair thinning shear to help you solve your problem.
Here are some few advices to keep in mind when using thinning shears though. Some people may doubt the effectiveness of thinning shears and feel that it might take most of their time using it but it actually does the opposite. It is so simple to use; many people just get the wrong idea from people who are novice when it comes to the device. Hair thinning shears have teeth-like blades that remove tangles with just a single stroke. The thinness you want can be reached without compromising your hairstyle with the use of these special shears.
If your hair is long and thick, you may want to comb it first before running the shears into your hair. You can also work in sections to achieve best results. You slide the open hair thinning shears to the hair starting 1/3 to 1/2 of the way along the length of the scalp. Now make a single snip then open and remove the shears. Use a comb to pass through the section where the hair has been cut. Move on to the next part until you have completely finished thinning your hair. If you think you need to cut a little on an area you can make a second pass but this time start from 1/3 from above the ends of the hair. This will taper the fullness of the hair without ruining your hairstyle. Always perform the snipping equally or in uniform. You can only make additional cuts if you are sure that you need them. Do not remove too much hair or it will end up looking stringy.
You will only want to use hair thinning shears in every 3rd haircut/trimming. If you go beyond the recommended timing, you will remove too much hair and your hair will end up too thin. After your first thinning, you may want to trim your hair at the upper portion the second time around since the previous cut was done at the lower portion of your hair. This technique of using thinning shears is advisable to those who have straight or wavy hairs. If your hair is curly, you can add another thinning step for the third time at the middle length to achieve the volume you want and prevent the triangular shape of you hair or what they call the "Christmas Tree" style.
An important reminder to take note is to open the shears after you make the snip. Try to pull the shear with the blades closed away from the hair. Take a section of hair and pin it on the top and thin starting from the hair below to avoid a poky hairstyle. If you want bangs, use the shears about 1/2 ways down the base of the hair. Using thinning shears is simple and produces a chic look in a snap.
