When looking for advice or tips on cutting hair you really need to understand the basics first. Once you know and can see your face shape it will help determine the best cut and style that will complement your facial features. A good stylist should take your face shape into consideration before suggesting a hairstyle. Also your lifestyle, hair texture and condition is also very important before suggesting a hair style for you.
Getting the right hair cut is a great way to change an appearance, it should always make you look great. However when someone is giving a ear full of advice on how to cut your hair, always be sure that the advice your getting will result in having a great haircut. Whether your having a hairstylist cut your hair or if your cutting it at home, your going to want that style to look its best on you.
One of the first tips on cutting hair is that you need to work with or get advice from a professional hair stylist. They need to be, not only a good listener, but explain how and why the cut or style their suggesting will complement you.
Now to avoid a really bad cutting experience, I have come up with some really simple hair cutting tips. These hair cutting tips will help you when your getting a professional haircut or if you're wanting to cut your own hair.
This fist tip on cutting hair is that you will always want a hair stylist who listen to their clients. They should make you feel comfortable enough to share your likes and dislikes or any apprehensions you may have. In the past I have had people that didn't want a style or haircut I was suggesting and usually it was because the person that gave them their last cut or style, may have messed it up so badly the first time. That the client never got to see how nice the style would look on then, if the cut was done correctly in the first place. This is why listening and communication is so key here.
Now when your thinking about your next hair cut, be sure and look through some different magazines or pictures online. Then just print them out and bring them in to show your stylist. This always helps the hair stylist to have clear picture of what you expect and want.
Another wonderful hair cutting tip is know the type of hair you have. is it wavy, curly, fine or thick. Do you have a cow lick or a crazy hair pattern.
Another very important tip to take in to account is your face shape
Here are some steps to take before cutting your own hair.
Wash and condition your hair before cutting. this will make it easier to control while cutting. You hair stylist may suggest cutting your hair dry first. this is a professional techniques and works well in cases of bangs, Establishing length, lite trims and when it come to cutting curly hair. Remember though, hair is easier to control and cut when its wet.
If your unsure of the amount or length to cut. Then always cut off less than what you want the finished length to be if your cutting your own hair for the first time.
The easiest way to cut hair is in sections. Just comb the hair with the sectioned out hair in between your index and middle finger. This will give you the best control over your hair and a even cut.
Make each cut one small section at a time.
Be sure your standing or sit as straight as possible.
When cutting bangs don't attempt to cut them wet or with tension. This will result in cutting then way to short.
Always use hair cutting scissors. Never use paper scissor or you'll run the risk of tearing the hair and causing split-ends. These type of shears can be purchased at any local beauty supply store.
