How to Eliminate Lip Lines
Then again, there are many bad habits on our part that leads to lines even before we actually start to age. Such bad lifestyle choices include not taking proper sun protection while out in the sun and smoking cigarettes. In fact, the last factor contributes greatly to the lines forming around your lips as you have to pucker your mouth for smoking a cigarette. As for sun damage, the ultra violet rays of the sun damages the collagen in your skin as a result of which the elasticity of your skin loosens.
Steps To Take For Avoiding Lip Lines
- On the lines around your lips, avoid a lotion that has glycolic acid. This should be done at the night after washing your face. The lotion should be applied on the areas surrounding your lips. But this will only temporarily eliminate the lines around your lips as you use it; it will not remove them permanently. The acid just sloughs off your old skin around your lip and reveals the new unlined smooth skin below it.
- You can try a filler injection for your lip lines. Examples of such fillers are Juvederm and Restylane. They may not be permanent but the result can last up to a year for many. These fillers are generally injected to give volume to lips and along with adding volume they also fill up the lines surrounding it. Filler injections are always given by a plastic surgeon or your dermatologist.
- You can also try Botox injection for the lines around your lips. This procedure again has to be done under the guidance of your dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Like filler injections, this is also a temporary method to remove the lines but for many people, the result lasts for several months at times. The secret behind Botox is that they reduce muscle movement which in turn eliminates wrinkles!
- Another thing you can use for your lip lines is a lip wrinkle cream. You have to use it twice a day to get desired results. The only problem with it is that these creams in general are a bit costly. They supposedly work by making the lines around your lips plumper. For getting that result, you have to however use it the creams continuously every day or as frequently as possible. Given the price of the creams, it can be a problem for many.
