Norelco Shaver Battery Replacement
After long term use, Norelco shavers will soon or later required to change the battery. It vary on models, but most older had AA or AAA ni-cd batteries with memory effects. Nowadays cordless shavers have built-in li-ion battery and unfortunately they are not easy replaceable.
If you remember your shaver model it's easy to find new battery on various sites. It not necessary should be Norelco replacement battery, which is the same as other, but with brand name on it.
We should start from the obvious visible screws and look for hidden ones. Then just pull down the trimmer and other similiar parts and start to separate shaver case. On some models that can be tricky, but if you want there is no way you can't do it!
To replace battery you can take two ways. Either just cut down cables very near the battery and solder them on a new one or insert a housing, so you won't need to re-solder them again, when the time come.
Some of the board have small temperature sensor and is important to glue it back to battery. It's used to monitor temperature when charging and in some applications is crucial!
It is also important to replace batteries with the same type. Ni-Cd and Ni-Mh are not equal when comes to charging and the charging circuits will not handle it well. The capacity of battery can be little different as it don't have such impact. Watch out for polarity. Observe it BEFORE you cut the cables or un-solder battery, so you won't need to guess it Hope you will handle well!
