How to Apply Wax on Wooden Furniture
Wooden furniture is one of the most durable and elegant looking furniture that you will ever find. Also, wooden furnishings are quite durable, and do not require as much of maintenance as the other types of furniture would need. One of the important aspects of maintaining wooden furnishings is waxing and applying the right kind to the wood in the right manner will not only give a new look and sheen to the wood, but will also increase it's lifespan. Here are some simple steps that you can undertake to wax your wooden furniture.
What you need:
* Sand Paper
* Lint Free cloth that you will use to apply the wax to the wood.
* Wax that is used for waxing wooden furnishings.
Pre Waxing Tips:
The best wax for wood is either neutral colored of amber colored,, so that it does not take away from the natural look and finish of the wooden furniture. Before you wax the wood, make sure to check for any breaks or any defects. If it has, the defect will become more visible.
How to Apply Wax to Wooden Furniture:
First, you should wipe the wooden furniture with a dry cloth, so that the dirt and dust is cleared away. Waxing wood requires a clear surface. Then run the sand paper on the furniture. This will allow the wood to grasp the wax better.
Once you are satisfied with the sanding process, apply the wax to the wood using the lint free cloth to the furniture. The best way to apply wax to wood furniture is in long, full strokes so that the waxing is complete. Make sure that you do not apply so much wax that it becomes clumped at the surface. Try to smooth out the wax as much as you can.
Post Waxing Tips:
Once you are satisfied with the waxing process, take another dry cloth and run it over the wooden furniture to smooth out the waxwork.
