Just An Ordinary Bathroom Or Rather Your Own Wellness Oasis?
What would you like better? Just an ordinary looking bathroom or rather a nicely designed and decorated personal wellness oasis?
Anybody who is believing the bathroom is rather an unimportant room and doesn't need any decoration efforts, is definitely thinking wrong. The bathroom in a home usually is the private room, and should furthermore be a wellness oasis, where people can find their relaxation from the daily stress. No matter if just by yourself or together with your partner, having a relaxing bubble bath in a tub filled with cozy warm water is one of the most relaxing ways to leave the stress of the day behind you. The use of bath salts and adding the aromatic scent of fragrances to the room, will improve this relaxation experience even more.
Sounds good so far? I know it does but you probably will agree with me, the bubble bath and some aromatic scents in the air can't be all it needs to convert an ordinary bathroom into a personal wellness oasis if the walls are dull and empty and there are no decorative accents around at all.
Bathroom decor and decorative accents are, what will convert any otherwise dull looking bathroom easily in an oasis for wellness and relaxation. The right decor and furnishings but also the right lighting are as important to make you feel cozy and comfortable in your bathroom.
Just keep in mind, functionality and design should always go hand in hand.
The right selection of bathroom furniture pieces like wall mounted cabinets, in which you can store your bathroom towels, wash cloths but also cosmetic accessories, your manicure and pedicure tools are same as important as wall mirrors, decorative and stylish towel holders, maybe a nice corner rack or even a corner wall shelf. A smaller cabinet, that can be used as a medicine cabinet could be added to your bathroom as well. It's a good place for you to store your First Aid Kit for any emergencies as well as any other medication, so it always will be handy and can be found quickly by everyone in your household.
Not all bathrooms are big enough for the installation of a big vanity. But this doesn't mean you couldn't keep things like the daily used cosmetic accessories, tooth brush holders and tooth paste or shavers and razors neatly organized and handy. The installation of a decorative mirror wall shelf or wall console right above the sink will help you to keep everything in place.
Nicely designed bathroom rugs, which should complement your other decor and and shower curtains are a great way to accent the otherwise cold tile floor. Towel holders or racks, matching the styles and designs of the other bathroom furnishings, should be installed in locations, so they can easily be reached from your sink, bathtub or shower.
You might even consider hanging up a wall mural that complements the other bathroom decor design. A few smaller decorative figurines, a collection of sea shells in a decorative bowl, a decorative candle and the use of decorative hand towels as additional accents are only a few more suggestions for you to round up your decorating efforts, that will help to change the feel and look of your bathroom.
Most home and garden decor stores offer also a nice selection of bathroom decor sets among other decorative home accents that you can choose from to style and decorate your very own wellness oasis. Also available are Bath and Body Gift Set Baskets, which always will add a great accent to any bathroom and will make a great eye catcher and focal point. There are no limitations on themes how you can decorate a bathroom. Ranging from beach style, over western or rustic cabin style to safari or even contemporary modern, every theme has it's very own charm. Always remember, it is your bathroom and only you will know what theme will fit the best your personality and style, what will make you feel comfortable the most and what you will like the best. It is also you you will know, what will fit your decorating budget the best. Decorating your bathroom/s doesn't mean you have to get broke over it. Even the bathroom decorating on a small
budget can make all the difference in the world to the look and feel of any room.
The right amount of lighting is another aspect that will have a big influence on how comfortable you will feel in your bathroom. Keep in mind, you always want make sure to have a good amount of light for activities like putting on makeup or styling your hair or shaving, while deciding for the perfect lightning fixtures or lamps for your future personal wellness oasis.
On the other hand, I doubt you will like a really bright light while having a relaxing bubble bath. So consider placing a nice little lamp or the installation of a decorative wall light that can provide that just right amount of light.
For safety reasons and to prevent death or injury caused by electrical shock, make at any given time sure you will never ever place any lamps or any other electrical devices close to your bath tub.
In my opinion, nothing is more relaxing after a stressful day, than having a bubble bath in a bathroom, illuminated only by candle light and filled with the aromatic scents of a scented candle or the fragrances of aroma oil, released by an oil warmer.
If then there is still some romantic music playing...
Ok, I better get back to the subject of this article and leave the dreaming up to you.
Besides of any decor and accents mentioned above and regardless the decorating theme you will decide for, some house plants should never be missing in a bathroom either. Plants will not just add another accent and special touch, they will also bring a look of nature into your bathroom. the use of house plants or flowers are a very own way to set accents while interior decorating. I'm sure, there is a way for you to find room and place a decorative flower vase or nice looking planter on a corner or wall shelf or on top of cabinet, if not even on the floor. Even artificial plants or flowers can do the trick as a great substitution to real house plants.
As you hopefully can see now, it actually really doesn't take much more than some planning, a little creativity and imagination and maybe a little fantasy to transform any bathroom into your very own, self designed and decorated wellness oasis.
