Most people like to keep a neatly groomed, close shaved appearance, and to do this a razor or shaver is needed to make that face as smooth as possible. This has been going on throughout time, although it has gotten much easier and convenient. A couple centuries ago and up, a straight razor was used manually to groom unruly hair. Straight razors were extremely sharp and required an extremely steady hand or else you would end up maimed. Electric shavers are naturally going to be more expensive than a disposable razor merely because they are electric and can be used conveniently anytime. No shaving cream has to be used to shave with an electric shaver, the blades do not wear out really quickly, and in fact the blades on an electric shaver are meant to last a long time. Most electric shavers will carry a lifetime warranty on blades.
There most common and widely known electric shavers are the ones meant to be used to groom facial hair, but there are others that are meant to cut hair on the head, and still others that are a bit smaller and meant to get difficult hair such as in the ears, nose and other small areas. Practically any area on the body can be shaved safely with an electric shaver; however the men's facial hair electric shaver remains the most popular. A lot of these shavers are corded but now; the completely wireless electric shavers are taking over, making shaving even more convenient.
