Shaving is a vital part of a man's life. Shaving is done to look clean and some people even do it every day. However, it is important that you shave carefully so that you can stay away from its harmful after-effects.
Getting after shave rash and feeling irritation of skin after shaving are some of the common problems. You should verify the contents of your shaving kits and make sure you use good quality products. Using cheap products can make your skin irritable as they might include some harmful chemicals, which can damage your skin.
Tips for skin care:
Wash your face with warm water to wet the beard as it becomes soft and easy to cut. You can use an electric razor as it helps to cut the hair from its root without being harsh on skin.
While shaving, go with the direction of hair growth as it provides a milder effect. Excessive stretching of skin and extreme pressure on the blade while shaving can cut your skin anytime. Do not shave repeatedly on the same area as it can cause rash or result in ingrown hair.
Aspirin is another effective solution for shaving. If you suffer from any symptom such as irritated skin, red spots or burning sensation due to shaving, then you can make a mixture of two tsp of aspirin with one glass of water and rub it over your affected area to get a soothing relief.
Avoid the products that include alcohol content. Instead of alcohol, you can use the tea tree oil based products as it helps to prevent the skin rashes. Apply alum as a natural antiseptic because it prevents the infection from the shaving cuts.
You should use the glycerin or aloe vera based shaving creams or aftershaves, which can reduce the skin bumps, red spots and itching. You can also use sandalwood paste as an aftershave as it acts like an anti-septic cream.
For shaving public hair, you have to be very cautious. This is the most sensitive part of the body and hence you should give proper concentration while shaving off hair of that area. You should trim the hair of the pubic area before shaving as you can easily remove the short hair with a razor.
