When you have just been broken up with your ex, you find yourself with a lot of questions. What do I do now? How do I fix this? CAN I even fix it, or is all hope lost? Well, rest assured...all hope is NOT lost. This is a completely fixable situation if you know what you are doing, and I am here to help you out in that regard.
To start us off, ask yourself a question: what is it that led to this? You need to come to the understanding that whatever it was that made the relationship go downhill, it has now fallen to you to fix it. Your ex fixed it for himself by cutting you out, so if you want him back you are going to have to figure out a way for things to work...its no fun that you have to be the fall guy, but that is the way it is. Don't expect this to be as simple as one apology, it is going to take a little work.
To help you out, I have written this article for you as a guide to some of the things you should do to wipe the slate clean with your ex and make him far more likely to give the two of you another chance. It wont be as easy as snapping your fingers, but if you plan your moves carefully it can fall into place as easy as can be.
1) Completely cut off contact with him for a term of roughly a month. This eliminates any possibilities of making things worse by lashing out from all the stress and emotion flying around during and after a breakup. Last thing you need is to make your job harder.
2) Avoid classic desperation mistakes that typically occur after a breakup. Drunken Dialing and Text Message Terrorism are the prime examples, and it isn't hard to understand why you don't want to do these things. You shouldn't be interested in giving your ex the impression that you are lonely to the point of drinking or desperate to the point of sending a barrage of emails or text messages. Cool off a bit, and let your partner miss you.
3) Make good use of your time apart, develop a plan! Not knowing what you are doing before you do it can lead to as many problems as Drunk Dialing or Text Message Terrorism, if not more! If you need to, seek help in finding a proven system that works for getting your ex back, and follow it to a tee. Organization is your friend.
Don't forget that this isn't a time to sit around and be sorry for yourself...this time away from each other is not just to keep you from messing thing up worse or to make him miss you, its also to give you room to think and devise a plan of action. With the right process carried out the right way, anything can become much more simple, even this.
Remember that you will have to do some work on this, it wont just fix itself. An apology and a kiss wont solve these problems, so you need to solve them yourself. Having a plan makes it all the easier because you know what to expect and how to deal with it. I wouldn't advise for anyone to try to get your ex back without at first thinking it through and coming up with a strategy to accomplish it.
