Tips On Leg Waxing
Everyone loves to have smooth and silky legs. Proper hair removal is one of the prerequisites to have beautiful legs.
Leg waxing is the most popular method of hair removal that leaves you with smooth legs for long periods of time.
Leg waxing is quite popular owing to its effectiveness. Here are some tips you can follow if you wish to do leg waxing at the comforts of your own home.
Prepare your skin before you plan to wax it. You should get rid of the dead skin cells by exfoliation at least a week before waxing so as to clean up the skin completely and avoid irritations.
Just before waxing your leg, you should dust baby powder onto your legs to promote oil absorption from the skin surface and proper wax adhesion on to the skin.
Stay away from leg waxing if your skin is sunburned or injured.
Dry your legs completely before waxing them. Oils and creams if present on the skin might prevent the wax from adhering to the surface completely. You should have at least 3 weeks of hair growth on your legs before going for waxing sessions.
There are wax kits specially designed for waxing leg hair. You can also use a homemade wax made of half cup of lemon juice, 1 cup of water and 4 cups of sugar. The wax will be ready when it is heated up around 230 degrees. Apply the wax after it has cooled down just a bit.
If you buy a commercial waxing kit, then heat the wax according to the instructions. Do not over heat and burn yourself. Apply the wax on the hairless area behind the hand to check the temperature.
Sit down comfortably, preferably on a non carpeted surface. Apply wax in the direction of hair growth .Place the waxing strip over the warm wax and press firmly. Wait for some time and then pull the strip in the direction opposite to that of hair growth in a quick motion. The faster you pull off the strip, the lesser the pain u will feel.
After waxing you can moisturize your legs by applying olive oil or coconut oil. You can apply antiseptics containing salicylic acid to disinfect the waxed area.Placing damp cloth and applying Aloe vera gel over the waxed areas will help to soothe the skin.
